ClearEdge Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information ClearEdge collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

ClearEdge may collect information you provide directly, including your email address, account credentials or login identifiers, saved fishing spots, spot names, notes, and app preferences.

If you sign in with Google, we may receive basic account information needed to authenticate you, such as your email address and account identifier.

2. Location and Map Information

ClearEdge may process map interactions, selected points, saved locations, and fishing spots so the app can show ocean conditions, forecasts, depth, buoy data, and related map features.

Saved spots are treated as user account data and are used to provide the saved spot feature.

3. Automatically Collected Technical Information

We may collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, pages or API endpoints accessed, error logs, and security-related logs. This is used to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the app, authenticate users, save and display spots, operate map layers, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and communicate about service-related matters.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers or infrastructure providers as needed to operate the service, comply with law, protect the service, or respond to valid legal requests.

6. Third-Party Services

ClearEdge may use third-party services for authentication, maps, hosting, analytics, weather, ocean, satellite, and buoy data. Those services may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Data Retention

We retain account information and saved spots while your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, secure the service, and maintain backups.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices

You may choose not to provide certain information, but some app features may not work. You may request account or saved spot changes by contacting the ClearEdge operator.

10. Children

ClearEdge is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of ClearEdge after changes means the updated policy applies.
